Today is World Mental Health Day 💚

We do our best to keep our environment at PDC as stress-free as possible but sometimes (like when we lose power) it's hard to keep the day from feeling stressful. But somehow our team keeps a smile on their face!!

Today we're closing early for our Big Monthly Meeting as a team.

While today we'll be down to business -- last month's meeting was replaced with a fun surprise. For those that know Dr. Rhett, you know that he is passionate about his gardening. 🌼🌷🐝🦋🐛🌾

He shared a little of that passion with all of us! He got the materials to make pollinator planter pots and gave us a talk on how to care for the plants, why pollinators are important, and how native plants support our local ecosystem.🌎

(Fun Fact: Before Dr. Rhett was a dentist he was a high school biology teacher 😁👨🏻‍🏫)

Ever feel like your teeth don't look the same as they did 10+ years ago?

Teeth can start to crowd in as you age. It's not uncommon to have happen as you age. But it doesn't mean that you life with a smile that's harder to keep clean and not recognizable to you.

Today is National Fresh Breath Day! 😮‍💨
Something that plays a BIG part in fresh breath and in a healthy mouth & body is the bacteria in your mouth. Your mouth is kind of like your gut in the sense that there is both good and bad bacteria.

Ideally, if the good out-weighs the bad, your mouth feels healthy. But if the bad bacteria out weighs the good, you can have symptoms like bad breath, dry mouth, more prone to decay, bleeding gums, tooth loss, periodontal disease, chronic inflammation, etc. And that doesn’t include the medical complications that bad bacteria can contribute to.

All bacteria have different markers and can respond to various treatments a bit differently. That’s why we offer bacterial salvia testing. We want to create a plan that targets specific bad bacteria and increases the good bacteria in your mouth.

Your mouth is the gateway to your body, your bad breath isn’t something to be embarrassed about — it’s your body’s way of telling you it’s time to have a discussion with a dental professional about the bacteria in your mouth. 🔎
