The team at Dental Associates would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Scott Baumann, who will be retiring on June 30, 2026, after 30 years of practicing dentistry in Grinnell. Dr. Baumann thanks you for the privilege to serve and for being welcomed into your lives. Thank you for entrusting him with your health and the health of your families, often across generations. The relationships formed have been the most meaningful and rewarding part of his career.

With this significant milestone, we would also like to announce the addition of our new associate, Dr. Andrew Christiansen. We are pleased to have him join our practice, and he will begin seeing patients in the summer of 2026.

Dr. Christiansen, a native of Mitchell, South Dakota, received his DDS from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry in Lincoln, Nebraska. He also earned his bachelor’s degree from South Dakota State University. While in dental school, he was active in clinical training and spent time volunteering at free dental clinics in the Lincoln area, providing care to underserved populations.
Dr. Christiansen is eager to begin his career with the Dental Associates team and is looking forward to serving the Grinnell community and building lasting relationships with his patients.

We are all delighted for Dr. Baumann and his next chapter. We want to reassure you that you will continue to receive excellent care. The practice owner, Dr. Julie Hendricks, and our new associate, Dr. Andrew Christiansen, will continue to provide the high-quality, compassionate dentistry that you have come to expect.

A Note of Gratitude and Retirement from Dr. Scott W. Baumann

To my valued patients and friends:
After 30 years of practicing dentistry—and with a full heart—I am writing to share that I will be retiring, with my final day at Dental Associates being June 30, 2026.

As I reflect on these three decades, my overwhelming sentiment is one of gratitude. It has truly been a privilege to serve this community and to be welcomed into your lives. Thank you for entrusting me with your health and the health of your families, often across generations. Those relationships have been the most meaningful and rewarding part of my career.

While I am looking forward to this next chapter, I want to reassure you that you will continue to receive excellent care. My partner, Dr. Julie Hendricks, will continue to provide the high‑quality, compassionate dentistry you have come to expect. I have full confidence in her expertise, her integrity, and her dedication to your well‑being.
