I found a great article on LinkedIn by Amir Lebaschi, DPM. I have to share it. This is great info, and the graphics are wonderful, too. The only thing I'd like to add is the need for properly fitted, well-supported footwear. I am a Nationally Registered Board-Certified Pedorthist, and I run a private practice pedorthic footwear store. As C-Peds, we are qualified to help you keep your feet healthy and happy for the long haul. The biggest problem that comes through my door is improperly fitting shoes. This causes so many problems that can be avoided with a good-fitting pair of shoes with the proper support for your individual feet. You can't rely on the sizes on the box anymore, even between different styles in the same brand. We can help you find the shoes that not only fit your eyes, but also fit your feet. This is why you need to work with a Certified Pedorthist who has the knowledge to fit you for proper foot function. The foot is dynamic and wants to move correctly to feel good. If the shoes don't fit, the function is hindered, leading to a wide range of issues that cause discomfort and pain. Find a Board-Certified Pedorthist in your area. https://www.pedorthics.org/search/custom.asp?id=133 Once you get there, scroll to the bottom of the page and put in your search criteria. Or better yet, go to our www.walkezstore.com and schedule a consultation for a full foot-gait analysis, complete with shoe fit 101. Your feet will love you for it!
