We're proud to be a collection site for Kits for Kids GVL this summer! 🎉

Kits for Kids GVL is a volunteer-led project partnering with Miracle Hill's Foster Program to restock the Foster Shop before the school year begins. The Foster Shop lets foster children come in and choose items for themselves — school supplies, toiletries, and personal items they actually want.

Drop off donations here from July 25–August 4!

Here's what's needed most:

🎒 Foster Shop Kits — new underwear + school supplies packed in a reusable shopping bag (~$15–25)

🧴 Toiletries — shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrushes, toothpaste, face wash

🎧 Bonus items for teens — headphones, earbuds, deodorant, Cantu hair products, skincare

🏕️ Extras — bug spray, sunscreen, duffel bags, restaurant gift cards

Please NO backpacks, socks, stuffed animals, blankets, or hand sanitizer — they're fully stocked. Every donation helps a local foster child start school feeling supported.

July 7th is "Smiles at 7 Day"! The AAO recommends that age SEVEN is the best age to first see an orthodontist!

By 7 years old, a child has enough permanent teeth for an orthodontist to detect and potentially intercept jaw or teeth alignment issues.
While some issues may be obvious, others may not be apparent to the untrained eye. In addition to an intraoral exam, Dr. Tollison can check below the surface with panoramic x-rays, allowing him to check for missing, extra, or impacted teeth.

The first meeting typically has three parts: a clinical evaluation, x-rays, and a consultation. During the evaluation, Dr Tollison will examine the patient's bite for any visual issues. Next, he will take x-rays of your jaws and teeth to identify and accurately diagnose any orthodontic problems not easily seen. Finally, he will discuss a recommended treatment strategy. If indicated, and you would like to, he can often get you started that same day!

Not all early visits result in orthodontic treatment. Dr. Tollison's goal is to wait until all permanent teeth have erupted-then treat all orthodontic problems in one phase. If indicated, as the saying goes, an ounce of prevention can be worth a pound of cure!
