September is National Gum Care Month! 🦷
We’re starting the month with a simple question: do your gums regularly bleed when you brush or floss?
If the answer is yes, don’t just brush it off. Frequent bleeding can be a sign that your gums are inflamed and may be one of the early signs of gum disease. Red or swollen gums, tenderness, persistent bad breath, and gum recession can be other clues that your gums need some extra attention.
And remember—seeing a little blood when you floss isn’t a reason to give up on flossing. Gentle, consistent brushing and cleaning between your teeth are essential for removing plaque and supporting healthier gums.
We’ll have more gum-care tips to share throughout September, because a healthy smile needs a healthy foundation.
If your gums keep bleeding, mention it at your next visit so we can take a closer look.
