Dr. Smith continued his academic career at Clemson University where he graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. For eight years, he worked as an actuary with prominent life insurance firms in both North Carolina and South Carolina. He enjoyed this profession, but wanted a career where he could help others. Even with his successes working in corporate finance, Dr. Smi
th soon realized his true calling was dentistry. He entered dental school at the Medical University of South Carolina at the age of 31 where he was an active member of Psi Omega Dental Service Fraternity in school. While at MUSC, Dr. Smith graduated among the top of his class in 2007. Dr. Smith and his family moved back to his hometown of Greenville in 2007. Immediately, he began working with children and young adults in a pediatric dental practice. In 2009, Dr. Smith purchased a thirty year old established general dentistry practice founded by Dr. Bob Wallace, a well respected member of the dental community. Keenan is an active member of the Greenville County Dental Society, South Carolina Dental Association, American Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry. He is also a believer in improving his clinical skills in dentistry through continuing education. Dr. Smith’s goal of 50 or more hours in the classroom per year greatly exceeds the state annual requirement of 14 hours. Keenan is an avid volunteer in our community and above all a generous person who devotes his time to helping others. You can often find him at the downtown medical clinic providing emergency dental care to those in need. He and his wife Christina, along with their five children, are active members of Grace Church. Dr. Smith has also been part of a recent medical mission team from his church to Kenya. Rackley has been a part of our practice family since May of 2018 and has been serving patients in the upstate since 2017. “I’m not from here, but I got here as soon as
I could!” he often says. A proud alumnus of Clemson University, Eric told his parents in
the seventh grade that he wanted to go to Clemson one day and leave the snowy winters
of Pittsburgh behind. After graduating from the Clemson Honors College, Eric attended the Medical University of South Carolina for his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree,
where he finished among the top of his class. Providing exceptional quality care with compassion and open communication is vital
to Dr. Rackley. He believes that when you are a patient of Vineyard Dental, you are a part
of the family and deserve to be treated that way. Dr. Rackley is committed to continually refining his craft. He has trained at several institutes for advanced dental education,
including the Pankey Institute, Spear Education, and the Kois Center. Dr. Rackley is constantly learning through hundreds of hours of continuing education each year and multiple study groups. In 2021, Dr. Rackley became one of youngest dentists in the country to earn his designation as a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentists as well as a Diplomate in the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. As an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentists of Dr. Rackley’s favorite things to do for his
patients is provide them with a smile transformation. Outside the practice, Eric enjoys running and hiking, spending time with friends, and he loves being with his family. He and his wife, Chandler, have two daughters, Macall and Sloane. Eric and Chandler have loved making Greenville their home and getting connected to the community. They are members at Grace Church, Downtown, and like Dr. Smith, share a passion for service and dental missions. Dr. Rackley has been on several dental mission trips and is eager to continue to serve both locally and internationally.
