Taking any GLP-1 medications for weight loss? Our comprehensive approach to dentistry places an emphasis on treating the mouth as part of the body, and not just individual teeth. We take this approach to ensure that the patient has a strong healthy dental foundation. GLP-1 medications can have some possible oral health complications, for example, bad breath and decay.

Why?

These medications can cause dry mouth and acid reflux which increases the risk of decay, especially if oral hygiene is not good.

Be sure to increase hydration, eat a diet rich in calcium and Vitamin D, floss and brush routinely.

As always follow the care as instructed by your provider, if you have any complications with any of your medications contact your physician. If you have any dental problems reach out to our office so we may assist!

Stay healthy!
