Patient presented with fractured lower incisors…luckily all 3 teeth were asymptomatic and vital (no root canals necessary). Previous dentist tried to restore using composite fillings, but they kept breaking off…We were able to give him a great result with full coverage E-Max crowns! 😁

One area of dentistry that is becoming increasingly important in our office is digital dentistry...Digital dentistry refers to the use of advanced technology and digital tools in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of dental conditions.

One of the most significant advancements in digital dentistry is the use of digital impressions. Traditional impressions, which are used to create models of the teeth and gums, require the use of a gooey, putty-like material that is inserted into the mouth. Digital impressions, on the other hand, use advanced imaging technology, such as laser scanning or structured light scanning, to create a highly accurate, digital model of the teeth and gums.

Another area of digital dentistry is computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology. CAD/CAM allows dentists to design and mill custom dental restorations, such as crowns, bridges, and implant abutments, using digital data. This technology allows for a faster, more accurate, and more precise process with minimal human error, as well as reduces the time patients spend in the dental chair.

Digital dentistry also encompasses 3D printing and virtual reality which can be used to create surgical guides and surgical models which can be used to aid in complex dental procedures and improves the precision and accuracy of the treatment.

Digital dentistry is not only more precise but also more efficient and cost-effective for the patient, as well as the dentist. It is a rapidly growing field, with new technologies and techniques being developed all the time!

Did you know that your diet can have a big impact on your oral health? In addition to brushing and flossing regularly, it's important to choose foods that are good for your teeth. Foods high in vitamins and minerals, such as vegetables and dairy products, can help keep your teeth and gums healthy. On the other hand, sugary and acidic foods can increase your risk of tooth decay. Keep your smile healthy by making smart food choices and visiting your dentist regularly. It's always great to hear positive feedback from our patients…this is what dentistry is all about!

"Several weeks ago, I went to see Dr. Nottage as I was having pain and difficulty with a back molar. He was busy that day, and referred me to Dr. Chapman, who had recently joined his practice. Dr. Chapman proceeded to do the initial part of the root canal that day. He also advised me to wait about a month, because he noted some structural issues with the tooth. I returned a month later, and was still experiencing pain. At that time Dr. Chapman advised me of a tooth extraction, which again he did that very day. He sent me home, and by Sunday I was experiencing more pain. I called the after hours line, and Dr. Chapman IMMEDIATELY got back to me, on a Sunday. Monday, he sent one of his assistants, Penny to hand deliver a prescription to my pharmacy. I cannot say enough about the excellent care that I received from Dr. Chapman and all of the staff at Dr. Nottage‘s office. It is my understanding, that Dr. Chapman is accepting new patients, and I give him a five star referral. He is gentle, and has a great bedside manner … I cannot say enough about the excellent care I received with this practice!"
