What an incredible way to close out the summer! ☀️🥂

Our Summer Soirée brought together an amazing group of general dentists and their key team members for an evening focused on case acceptance sharing practical strategies to help patients feel confident saying “yes” to larger treatment plans.

A great example of why coronectomies can be the safest option for certain wisdom teeth.

These X-rays tell the story over 4 years.

🦷 Before: Both lower wisdom teeth were impacted and positioned very close to the inferior alveolar nerve.

🦷 Immediately after surgery: A coronectomy was performed on tooth 32, leaving the roots intentionally in place to minimize the risk of nerve injury.

🦷 Four years later: The bone has healed beautifully around 32, demonstrating long-term stability. During this visit, a coronectomy was performed on 17 using the same nerve-sparing approach.

A coronectomy isn’t the right treatment for every wisdom tooth but when the roots are intimately associated with the nerve, it can be an excellent option to reduce the risk of numbness while safely treating the problem.

The right procedure isn’t always the most aggressive one, it’s the one that’s safest for the patient.

This tells the story much more accurately and highlights the impressive long-term healing seen after the first coronectomy.
