If ringing keeps showing up in one ear, why would anyone ask about your jaw?
Because the jaw joint sits just in front of the ear—and TMD and tinnitus can sometimes show up together.

Some people notice the sound changes when they clench, chew or move their jaw… especially when clicking, jaw pain or morning facial tightness is already part of the story.

But here’s the honest answer: that does not make the jaw the automatic cause.

Persistent ringing in one ear deserves a medical or hearing evaluation. If jaw symptoms are also present, a focused TMD assessment may add another useful piece to the picture.

The goal isn’t to blame the jaw. It’s to stop looking at symptoms in isolation.

Save this for your next appointment—and share it with someone who keeps hearing, “It’s probably just TMJ.”

Does your ringing change when you open, clench or move your jaw?

If you’ve been told you need a dental implant, you may have more than one option.
Many people are familiar with titanium implants, but ceramic dental implants are another choice for patients looking for a metal-free restoration.

Ceramic implants are made from biocompatible zirconia and are designed to replace missing teeth while blending naturally with your smile.

Some patients choose ceramic implants because they are:
✔️ Metal-free
✔️ Tooth-colored for a natural appearance
✔️ Biocompatible with the body
✔️ Designed to support healthy gums
✔️ Strong and durable for everyday function

At TMJ Plus Wellness Center, Dr. Coats is a Preferred Provider for Z-Systems® ceramic dental implants, allowing us to offer metal-free implant solutions for patients who are good candidates.
The best implant for you depends on your health, your goals, and your individual needs. A comprehensive evaluation can help determine which option is right for your smile.
Interested in learning whether ceramic dental implants are right for you? We’d be happy to answer your questions.

If your teeth could send you a text…
It probably wouldn’t say, “Everything’s fine.”
Your mouth has a way of letting you know when something isn’t quite right.

Maybe it’s:
🦷 Tooth sensitivity that keeps coming back.
😬 A sore jaw after you wake up.
🩸 Gums that bleed when you brush.
🤕 Headaches you didn’t think were connected.
🦷 Teeth that are slowly wearing down from clenching or grinding.

These signs don’t always mean something serious, but they are your body’s way of asking you to pay attention.

Too often, we ignore them because they seem small or because we’ve gotten used to them.

The good news? Many dental and TMJ problems are easier to manage when they’re identified early.
At TMJ Plus Wellness Center, we look beyond individual teeth to understand what’s happening with your bite, jaw, muscles, gums, and overall oral health—so we can help you find the source, not just treat the symptom.

Your teeth have been trying to tell you something.
Maybe it’s time to listen.
