We are excited to announce Grantsville Family Dentistry will be reopening Monday, May 18th!

Governor Larry Hogan has announced that we can now resume elective and non-urgent dental procedures.

We will be spending the next week preparing the office for our restart. We will be calling patients beginning on Monday, May 11th to schedule and confirm appointments. At that time, we will also inform you of our new way of checking in once you arrive at our office.

Please know, until we fully reopen, we are still available next week for emergency and urgent care needs.

Please refer to our previous post regarding the new steps and safeguards we have implemented to keep our patients and staff safe during this time.

Also, please remember that social distancing is still in place and we will be limiting the number of people in the waiting room. Masks are required when entering our office and we are asking that no additional people accompany you unless it is a health aide, parent, or guardian.

We look forward to seeing our patients again!

Update on COVID-19

We hope this update finds you and your families well. We are eager to resume routine appointments as soon as the state allows. At this time, we will continue to provide treatment for emergency cases only.

Dr. Sisler and staff are working diligently in staying up to date with the latest recommendations from the Maryland State Dental Associaton and the American Dental Association in the ways we can safely return to practicing dentistry and providing you with the services that promote good dental health thus better overall health.

During this time and moving forward, you will notice changes in our office that will provide you and our staff with the safest environment possible.

1. We will be asking you on the telephone if you have been or are fevered, have had the Covid-19 virus, tested positive for the virus or have been in contact with anyone having shown symptoms of this virus and whether you have traveled out of the country or in any designated high exposure regions.
2. Upon your arrival, you will find hand sanitizers that we kindly ask you to use in the reception area. In addition, wear a mask at all times until we ask for it to be removed.
3. You will see that we no longer offer magazines or our children’s playroom as those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
4. Also upon entering the office, we will take your temperature to make sure you are well and will ask screening questions again.
5. To protect all those coming and going, we ask that no extra people be in the waiting room or operatories unless a health aide, parent or guardian. If possible, stay in your car until your appointed time.
6. Expect to see barriers placed on counters and extra personal protective gear on our staff members. Jackets, masks, extra head protection will become the norm until we reach the other side of this coronavirus crisis.
7. Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. Our system of scheduling, seating and checking out after your visit might be a bit different. We will try to expedite both checking in at the front desk and exit after your visit.

Again, if you have a previously scheduled routine appointment with us, you will be contacted in the near future about rescheduling and if you are experiencing an emergency or have any questions please don’t hesitate to call our office at 301-895-8076. Attached below is a guideline on emergencies that require immediate attention.

Lastly, please know that we genuinely care and have missed our dental families. Together we will help forge a new path into having regular care in a most irregular time. Thank you for being our patient and for your patience as we move forward.

Hope to see you soon!

Update on COVID-19

In light of the rapidly growing developments regarding official responses to COVID -19, the Maryland State Dental Association recommends all dental practices voluntarily suspend all non-essential and non-urgent dental care for at least three weeks.

In order for our office to do its part to mitigate the spread of the virus, we will be concentrating on emergency dental care only until further notice.

We will have reduced office hours for emergencies. If you experience an emergency, please contact our office at 301-895-8076 and we will discuss options for you.

We appreciate your understanding in this time and will provide updates as the situation evolves.

Dear Valued Patients and Friends,

In this time of great concern and confusion about the Covid-19 virus, we want to take this time to assure you and your family that our practice follows what is known as universal precautions. What that means, is that regardless of what the current outbreak might be, strict adhesion to the policies of prevention through direct contact and sterilization in the delivery of dental services, is always a priority and practice.

Our facility follows the protocol and will follow this protocol of all surfaces being addressed throughout the building.

While you are here with us, antibacterial soaps, sanitizing wipes, and tissues are available to you. Please keep in mind that handwashing with soap and water is always the best precaution.

Be mindful that our magazines and children's area are shared. While the children's area can be sanitized throughout the day, the magazines, should you choose to read during this time, might prompt the use of handwashing or sanitizing.

If you have recently traveled outside the United States, or are currently suffering from an upper respiratory illness, please advise us immediately.

If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to ask.

Thank you so much for your courtesy and consideration. together we will get through this in the healthiest fashion!
