There are two reasons -- and two reasons only -- why practices like yours have aged accounts on their books:

1) They did not collect the appropriate patient portion at checkout, and

2) They did not know what the patient's insurance plan would cover or how much it would pay.

Stop the guesswork. Have eligibility, extensive benefits and preventive, basic and major history at your fingertips when your new patient walks in the door. Have insurance plans accurately built in your system with appropriate coverage books attached. You put the patient on the schedule. We take care of everything else -- a great solution for an overworked team who wants to get back to providing extraordinary patient care.

Here's what backlogged claims look like over multiple offices we have worked in the past couple months. Aside from those claims which have been paid but overlooked in posting, the carrier reports that (1) 42% are not on file, (2) 7% are either under review or have payment in-transit, and (3) a whopping 49% are there because of errors in insurance verification, filing or in building the plan/coverage book in the practice management software. If you want to clean up A/R for good, give us a call. It all starts with proper insurance management systems.
