Get to know Dr. Dillon Feigenbaum! He holds both a dental degree (DDS) and a medical degree (MD), completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital, and became board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2026.

Dr. Feigenbaum is also a Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, meaning patients with anxiety or complex sedation needs are in especially thoughtful hands.

His approach to patient care is centered on confident, compassionate care across the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures.

Outside the office: if he weren't a surgeon, he'd be a professional race car driver or a coffee roaster. His bucket list includes driving an F1 car; he'd settle for F2. He's an avid snowboarder, a dedicated chess player (chess.com regular), a Kurt Vonnegut reader, and his dream destinations are Hokkaido, Japan, and the Nürburgring. We are so glad to have Dr. Feigenbaum on our team!

After a bone graft, the most important step is also the simplest: letting it heal. That process takes time, and it's the foundation everything else is built on.

Once the grafted area has healed, your surgeon will evaluate whether the jaw has the density and volume to support a dental implant. From there, the process continues in phases: implant placement, a healing period while the implant integrates with the bone, and eventually the restorative phase (the crown), which is handled by your restorative dentist.

From start to finish, the complete implant process can take anywhere from 3 to 12 months, depending on your situation. Your surgeon will walk through the full timeline at your consultation.

The result will be a long-term, natural-looking replacement tooth that preserves your jawbone and restores your bite.

Hearing from our patients is the best reminder of why we do what we do. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, it helps other West Michigan families find us when they need us most.

"One of my molars had a fractured root and became infected (twice). The second time, it became so painful I called the Center for Oral Surgery + Dental Implants and was able to get in early to have it extracted. The team was so friendly and focused on making sure that I was comfortable. In fact, when Dr. Chris said, “The worst part is over. We’ve gotten that tooth out.” I couldn’t believe it! I was shocked! Just 3 days later and my swelling is almost gone, I had no bruising, and no longer need any form of pain medication. They even called a day later to make sure that I was doing well. Unbelievable!! I highly recommend the team at Center for Oral Surgery + Dental Implants. I’ll be going back to get a tooth replacement soon and know I’ll be in great hands!"

If you've had a positive experience with our team, we'd love to hear from you.

When a tooth is missing, the jawbone underneath stops getting the stimulation it needs and starts to shrink. Most of that loss happens in the first 18 months after a tooth comes out. Bone grafting is the procedure that rebuilds the foundation so a dental implant has stable, healthy bone to anchor into.

Whether it's a small graft for a single implant or a more involved reconstruction, the goal is the same: a result that lasts.

It's a question we hear often, and we think it deserves a straight answer.

For most patients, yes. Dental implants are the most durable, naturally functioning tooth replacement option available. They preserve the jawbone where your tooth was lost, leave your surrounding healthy teeth untouched, and restore full chewing function in a way that feels completely natural. With proper care, the implant post is designed to last 20 years or more.

That said, the right choice is always a personal one. Your bone health, medical history, and long-term goals all factor into whether implants are the best fit for you. Our team takes the time to evaluate all of that before we recommend a treatment plan.

We serve patients across West Michigan from our Grand Rapids and Rockford offices, and we're here to help you make the decision that's right for your smile.
