Exalta Health We are a faith-based nonprofit clinic that offers care for the whole person. The acronym HIS was created to represent the Christian motivation for service.

We mainly serve the uninsured, underinsured, and refugee community in West Michigan. Our integrated model includes medical, vision, dental, mental, and spiritual care services. Exalta Health, formerly Health Intervention Services, was established in 1996 by local physicians, nurses, social workers, pastors, and business people to serve underprivileged women with faith-centered medical care. The mi

ssion quickly expanded to include all those without access to health care. Located in the Burton Heights area of Grand Rapids since 1998, Exalta Health became a trusted resource for healthcare in the West Michigan community. In 2017 to more accurately communicate who we are and what we do, our name was changed to Exalta Health lifting up health and praising God who makes this work possible. Time has also brought other changes including integrating behavioral health into our physical health team, measuring our impact on patients and the community, focusing on the social factors that determine health, and supporting people where they live and work. What remains the same through these changes is our commitment to improving the health of our community motivated by our belief in the healing power of Jesus.

⛳ Our 23rd Annual Golf Outing was one to remember! From a little extra adventure on the course to plenty of laughs, fellowship, and friendly competition, we’re so grateful for everyone who came out to support Exalta Health.

🌧️ After a whole lot of rain the night before, golfers traded in their carts for a walking-only round, but that didn’t stop the fun!

🏌️ Over 110 golfers joined us
💙 Over $45,000 raised to support Exalta Health

Every swing, every dollar, and every person who showed up helped make a difference for our patients and community. We are incredibly grateful to our golfers, sponsors, and everyone who made this day possible.

We run on volunteers. And that's not just a saying. 🙌

Meet Anna, Exalta Health's Volunteer and Engagement Coordinator. She joined Exalta because of the whole-person, faith-informed approach to care, and now she's the person who makes sure every volunteer who walks through our doors feels as valued as the patients they serve.

Because of our volunteers, we're able to provide compassionate, comfortable care to our community. Every single week. That kind of care doesn't happen without people who show up with renewed hope and love in their hearts.
