Meet our Fotona laser — lovingly nicknamed “the woodpecker” because of its very unique (and very recognizable) sound!

This little powerhouse helps us:
✨ Remove cavities (especially for our littlest patients) without the need for numbing in many cases
✨ Using photoacoustics, it helps remove the periodontal ligament after extractions leaving a squeaky clean socket.
✨ Supports healing and reduces inflammation with photobiomodulation after surgeries, patients with jaw tension, or those extra-long appointments in the chair

It may sound like a tiny construction project, but it’s actually helping us provide gentler, more comfortable dentistry. 🦷💚

🧠 June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month — a reminder that oral health plays an important role in overall wellness.

Research continues to explore the connection between oral bacteria, chronic inflammation, and brain health. Certain periodontal pathogens, including P. gingivalis, have been identified in studies involving Alzheimer’s disease, highlighting the importance of understanding the oral-systemic connection.

Gum disease often develops silently, with many changes occurring below the gumline before symptoms are noticeable. Saliva testing can provide valuable insight into the oral microbiome and help identify bacteria associated with periodontal disease.
