๐ฆ In honor of Shark Week, letโs talk about Shark TEETH! ๐ฆท
๐ Sometimes when permanent teeth start to come in before baby teeth have fallen out, kids can develop two rows of teeth. Dentists call it over-retained primary teeth, but we also call it โshark teethโ ๐ฆ.
๐ Itโs most common around ages 6โ7 when the lower front adult teeth start erupting. The baby teeth donโt always loosen fast enough, so the adult teeth come in behind them!
๐ก What to do:
Donโt panicโthis is common!
Encourage wiggling those baby teeth ๐
๐
If they donโt loosen or fall out naturally, our friendly pediatric dentist can help with a quick and gentle extraction ๐
๐
If your little oneโs smile is starting to resemble a sharkโs, give us a call! Weโll help their adult teeth swim into place. ๐ ๐
