At Great Marsh Pediatric Dentistry, one of our favorite sounds is the giggle of a child walking out of their appointment saying, “That was fun!” 😊🦷

We know a visit to the dentist can feel like a big adventure, so we use a special pediatric dental technique called Tell-Show-Do. That means we explain what we’re going to do, show kids the tools and let them explore them, hear the silly noises, and ask questions before anything ever goes in their mouth.

Our goal is simple: help children feel comfortable, confident, and proud of their healthy smiles while building trust every step of the way. 💙

Whether it’s a first visit or a routine checkup, we’re here to make dental care positive, fun, and stress-free for both kids and parents.

Ready to join the Great Marsh family? We’d love to meet you! Call our office or schedule online today. 🦷✨

✨ A sweet little patient called me “the Tooth Fairy” today 🦷🧚 and honestly… it made me think about one of the most exciting milestones in childhood — losing baby teeth!

Most kids lose their very first tooth around ages 5–7, usually starting with the bottom front teeth. But just like kids grow at different speeds, teeth fall out on their own timeline too — and that’s completely normal! 💫

Whether your child is eagerly wiggling a loose tooth or still waiting for that first visit from the Tooth Fairy, every smile has its own story. 💕🦷✨

🦷 Molar Incisor Hypomineralization (MIH) is a common developmental condition that affects the enamel of first permanent molars and sometimes front teeth. While it can look concerning, early diagnosis and gentle care make a big difference in keeping little smiles healthy and comfortable.

At Great Marsh Pediatric Dentistry, we’re here to help parents understand what’s going on and create the best plan for your child’s unique needs—whether that’s strengthening, protecting, or treating sensitive teeth.

If you’ve noticed your child’s teeth looking discolored, sensitive, or “chalky,” we’re here to help.

Snack time = smile time! 🦷✨

At Great Marsh Pediatric Dentistry, we love helping families make small choices that lead to BIG healthy smiles. Here are some tooth-friendly favorites (and why we love them!):

🧀 Cheese – Helps neutralize acids in the mouth and is packed with calcium to strengthen enamel.

🥚 Eggs – Full of protein and important nutrients that support strong teeth.

🥬 Celery – Nature’s toothbrush! It helps scrub teeth and boost saliva.

🥕 Carrots – Crunchy, fun, and great for cleaning teeth while delivering vitamins.

🍎 Apples – Juicy and crisp, they help increase saliva and gently cleanse teeth.

🫐 Berries – Loaded with antioxidants (just rinse after to keep those smiles bright!).

💧 Water – The MVP! It rinses away food particles and keeps mouths hydrated.

🥜 Nuts – Full of healthy fats and minerals that support strong teeth.

We know every child is different 💛—some kiddos may have allergies or sensitivities, and that’s okay! There are always alternatives that can still support a healthy smile. These are just some of our go-to, tooth-friendly picks.

Healthy snacks don’t have to be boring… they can be fun, tasty, and smile-approved 😄

📸✨ Lights, camera, action! ✨📸

Taking X-rays might sound a little intimidating—but not here! At Great Marsh Pediatric Dentistry, we turn it into a quick, easy, and even fun experience for our patients 🦷💙

We have our kiddos focus on the little fishies swimming on the wall 🐠 while they gently bite down on a small sensor for just ONE second (yes, really—that’s it!). Then click—we’ve got the picture we need!

We also follow the ALARA principle—As Low As Reasonably Achievable—which means we only take X-rays when necessary and always use the lowest radiation levels possible to keep your child safe.

Our goal is to keep everything comfortable, simple, and stress-free so your child feels confident every step of the way.

Have questions about X-rays? We’re always happy to help!

🎉 ONE YEAR OF GREAT MARSH PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY! 🎉

What a year it has been. From construction dust and big dreams to a space filled with laughter, smiles, and so many amazing families—we are so grateful for how far we’ve come in just one year.

Building this office was truly a labor of love, and I could not have done it without the unwavering support of my family and friends who believed in this vision from the very beginning. Thank you for cheering me on every step of the way. ❤️

To all of the families who have trusted us with your children’s smiles, thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is an honor to care for your little ones and to be part of their journey. Your trust means everything to us.

To my amazing team, Jen and Maria, thank you for all your hard work to help make a success!

To everyone else I’ve met along the way that has helped me thank you for making this first year so special.

We celebrated with lunch at and some cupcakes… and don’t worry, we’ll be brushing Finn and Spot’s teeth later! 🧁🪥🐾

🦈 Shark Teeth: What’s Going On in That Smile?

Ever notice your child has a double row of teeth? Don’t worry—this common appearance of teeth is often called “shark teeth,” and we see it all the time at Great Marsh Pediatric Dentistry!

👉 What are shark teeth?
This happens when the adult tooth starts coming in before the baby tooth has fallen out, creating that “extra row” look.

👉 Why does it happen?
Typically the adult tooth dissolves the roots of the baby tooth as it pushes into the mouth. If the adult tooth comes in behind the baby tooth, it doesn’t push directly on the root leaving some attachment behind.
The baby tooth is then not wiggly.

👉 What should parents do?
• Encourage your child to gently wiggle the baby tooth
• Keep up with brushing and flossing around both teeth

Many times the tongue and lip with push the adult tooth forward dissolving the rest of the baby tooth roots and your child can wiggle out the tooth on their own.

👉 When should you call us?
If the baby tooth isn’t loosening, or your child is uncomfortable, we’re here to help! In some cases, we may recommend safely wiggling the baby tooth out in the dental office to make room for the adult one.

At Great Marsh Pediatric Dentistry, we’re here to guide your child through every stage of their smile 💙
