Notice of Temporary Closure
To Our Patients:
As healthcare professionals, our top priority is always the health and well-being of our patients, staff and their families. We are experiencing an unprecedented chain of events in our nation, and difficult decisions are being placed before us.
After careful consideration, we have concluded that we must temporarily close our office beginning March 17, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This comes after recommendations from the CDC, American Dental Association and New York State Dental Association. As our profession falls into a high-risk category for infection and transmission, we agree this is the safest measure to protect our community. Our goal is to reopen April 6th, but as you know, this landscape is ever-changing.
During this time, the office will plan to have a staff member available taking calls from 8am-12pm M-F to answer any questions unless any restrictions make this impossible. You will also be able to access the on call doctor via phone outside of those hours in case of emergency. Our goal is to prevent people from needing to be seen in the emergency room or at urgent care centers to keep those facilities available for those that need them.
Emergency conditions include:
· Severe toothache (throbbing that prevents sleep or daily functioning)
· Swelling of gums, face or neck
· Trauma (broken teeth due to injury)
We continue to be updated by the American Dental Association and the CDC on the status of the COVID-19 pandemic. We want to reassure our families that we continue to follow our strict infection control guidelines as recommended by the CDC and OSHA. We will continue to follow this dynamic situation and will update everyone when we return to normal business hours.
From our entire team, we thank you for your patience and understanding during this stressful and unpredictable time. It is always our honor to serve your dental needs, and we look forward to seeing you all soon. Please stay safe, take care of your families, and don’t forget to brush your teeth!
Kind regards,
Dr. Jennifer Merry, DMD
