Congrats, Dr. B! 🎉

DFWChild named Dr. Kevin Baharvand, the orthodontist at our sister practice Elate Orthodontics, a 2026 Mom Approved provider.

This one comes straight from local parents. Moms and dads nominate the providers they trust with their kids, and DFWChild vets every nominee. Nobody can buy their way onto the list.

We screen how kids' teeth and bites are developing at their regular visits here, and when a patient needs an orthodontic evaluation, Elate is right next door at 5605 FM 423. Pretty great to have a Mom Approved orthodontist that close. 💙

We are sponsoring Wakeland football this season.

A patient dropped this card off at the front desk. Handwritten, addressed to me and Dr. Kang. We are keeping it.

The Wolverines open at home against Richland on Thursday. Twentieth season for the program and the first year in 6A, so Guyer, Lewisville, Flower Mound, Hebron, Marcus and Little Elm are all on the schedule now.

One dentist note before kickoff. I do not recommend boil-and-bite mouthguards. Have a dentist make one, or buy from a reputable brand. If your athlete is in braces it needs to be a guard built for brackets, and for football I would take the version that covers the lower teeth too.

Happy birthday, Dr. Pham.

If you come to Tribute, Dr. Christina Pham is probably the dentist you know by name. She handles most of our routine, preventive, and restorative care, and she treats every age that walks through the door, from a kid’s first cleaning to a full restorative case on someone in their seventies.

Patients love her. That part is easy to say and hard to earn. People ask for her by name when they call to schedule, and they mention her in reviews. Our team likes working with her too, which matters more than people outside a dental office realize.

Dr. Kang got to celebrate with her. The rest of us just had cake.

Look who came home. 🤍

Reyvi stopped by the office to say hi to the team, and it made our whole week. For those who do not know, Reyvi was one of our RDAs at Tribute Family Dentistry before heading off to dental school in New Jersey. Watching him walk back through the front door in scrubs, one step closer to becoming Dr. Reyvi, was something else.

Here is the part I love about moments like this. When someone works with you and then leaves to chase something bigger, you never really know if they will come back to visit. Most people do not. Life gets busy. Cities get far. Reyvi made the trip. That says something about him, and honestly it says something about the family we have built here at TFD.

The whole team lit up when they saw him. Hugs. Stories. Catching up on classes and clinicals and how his patients up north are doing. It was like he never left.

Reyvi, you were an incredible RDA and you are going to be an even better dentist. New Jersey is lucky to have you for now, but Frisco is always your home base. Come back anytime. Actually, come back more often. That is not optional.

To our patient families who remember Reyvi, he sends his love. To the future patients he will care for, get ready. You are getting one of the good ones.

😬 Bad breath happens. But it shouldn’t stick around.

Most people think bad breath just means they forgot to brush. In reality, the cause is often deeper.

At our Frisco office we commonly see bad breath caused by things like:

• Bacteria on the tongue
• Dry mouth or dehydration
• Gum disease
• Food particles trapped between teeth
• Coffee, garlic, onions, and certain diets

In North Texas, dry mouth is a big contributor, especially during warmer months when people get dehydrated more easily.

The good news is that simple habits can make a huge difference:

✔ Brush twice daily
✔ Floss every day
✔ Clean your tongue
✔ Drink more water
✔ Keep up with dental cleanings

If bad breath lasts for weeks, it may be a sign that something deeper is going on like plaque buildup or gum inflammation.

A quick dental checkup can usually identify the cause and get things back on track.
