CEREC is a type of CAD/CAM (Computer-Aided Design/Manufacturing) dentistry. In this type of dentistry, Dr. Bauer takes scans of your mouth using a CEREC Primescan unit. Then, these digital scans are uploaded to a special CAD/CAM software and sent to a milling unit. This CEREC milling unit carves your dental crown or other restoration out of a solid block of porcelain in just a few minutes.
