Meet Melanie Nail, one of our amazing dental assistants and officially the most adventurous coffee-loving Mississippi girl you’ll ever meet!

From being homeschooled in Mississippi to earning her vocational certification in Dental Assisting through online courses at Northwest Florida State College, Melanie has always been a go-getter with a heart for learning. Her favorite part of being a dental assistant is creating a calming, comforting space so patients can feel at peace in the chair and leave confident in their smiles—plus she loves the endless opportunities to learn new things and meet new faces every day.

When she’s not helping you feel right at home in our office, you can probably find her outside at the beach, paddle boarding, playing volleyball, or chasing new adventures with her 10‑month‑old daughter, Mia (coffee in hand, of course).

Fun fact: Melanie has gone skydiving in Hawaii and even traveled to Africa on a mission trip—so helping you conquer dental anxiety is just another adventure she’s happy to share.

Every 6 months, our team hosts a Give Kids a Smile day, providing free routine dental care for children ages 1–17 in Walton County and the surrounding areas. From cleanings and exams to education on healthy habits, it’s our way of giving back to the families who trust us.

Spotlight time! 🌟

Meet Alyssa Armer, our Patient Care Coordinator and one of the first friendly faces you’ll see at Hammock Bay Dental. Born and raised in Freeport, FL, Alyssa went on to earn her biology degree from the University of West Florida before finding her way into dentistry—and she’s loving it.

Her favorite part of the job? Getting to see both new and familiar faces and chatting with every patient who walks through our doors, whether they’re coming in or heading out. She helps keep visits running smoothly and makes sure you feel welcomed, informed, and cared for every step of the way.

When she’s not at the office, you’ll probably find Alyssa walking her dogs around the neighborhood, playing coed softball, soaking up the sun at the beach, or spending time with friends and family. A few fun facts:

🐾 She has 3 fur babies: Hank, Cooper, and Tank.
🥰 She and her husband are high school sweethearts.
🦷 She may be new to dentistry, but she’s quickly becoming a pro at helping patients feel right at home.
