Did you know that Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a crossing of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc grapes? Its small, thick-skinned grapes give the wine its rich color, bold flavor, and noticeable tannins.

That beautiful deep-red color can also affect your smile. The wine’s dark pigments and tannins may contribute to tooth staining, while its acidity can temporarily soften enamel. Alcohol may also reduce saliva, which normally helps rinse away food particles and protect your teeth.

Today is International Overdose Awareness Day, a time to remember those we have lost, support the people and families affected by overdose, and help end the stigma surrounding substance use.

Opioids may sometimes be prescribed after dental procedures. Always take medication exactly as directed, never share prescriptions, and safely dispose of unused medication. Naloxone can temporarily reverse an opioid overdose and save a life. If you suspect an overdose, call 911 immediately and administer naloxone if available.

Education, compassion, and awareness can make a difference. 💜
