Hello everyone! We’ve been receiving a lot of calls from our patients regarding the procedures that we have implemented in our office to keep everyone safe and protected from COVID-19. As a result, we thought we would share photos of some of the strategies that we have put in place to ensure that our office is following all state and federal guidelines.

In addition to our standard infection control procedures:
1. We are performing daily COVID-19 screenings of all of our employees. They are all trained to know the signs and symptoms of a possible COVID-19 infection. We are performing twice a day temperature checks of our employees with an infrared touchless thermometer.
2. We have relieved any possible patient traffic and congestion in the building by asking all patients to wait in their vehicles until their appointment time.
3. While they are in their vehicles, a member of the staff is coming outside to greet them, ask them additional screening questions, and also take their temperature with an infrared touchless thermometer.
4. We are sterilizing all pens and clipboards after each patient.
5. We are routinely disinfecting all high touch areas such as counters, light switches, door k***s, etc.
6. We have placed bottles of hand sanitizer throughout the office for both patient and staff use.
7. We have employed a combination of surgical masks, KN95 masks, N95 masks, face shields, isolation gowns, and washable lab jackets to keep all patients and staff safe.
8. We have installed plexiglass shields at the patient check out counter and have also placed 6 feet social distancing markers on the floors.

Due to the nature of the services we provide, it is impossible to maintain social distance within our office at all times. But rest assured that we have always taken infection control seriously in our office and that we are working hard to ensure the safety of both our patients and staff.

COVID-19 Update

May 5, 2020

Dear Patients,

Our office is excited to announce that we will be ready to welcome you back to the office on Monday, May 11 for all your dental needs.

As you all know, Governor Gregg Abbot allowed the Stay At Home order to expire on Thursday, April 30th. Since then, the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners has released guidelines that will allow our office to treat patients again.

Our office has used this extra time to train all of our staff on the new guidelines. We have just completed our in-office training and will be implementing new procedures to insure the safety of all of our patients and staff.

We thank you for your patience with us during this challenging time. We are currently in the process of working to reschedule the appointments of all the patients that had to be canceled during the shut down. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions and concerns regarding your dental treatment.

Congratulations to Mary Catherine! She is the December winner of Dr. Kovar's no cavity club contest! Keep brushing kids! Our next drawing will be in March and we will be giving away this almost life size stuffed monkey to one lucky patient who is cavity free at their next checkup!
