🦷✨ *A little reflection from Dr. Sung* ✨🦷

I’ve been practicing dentistry for 16 years, and now with two practices under my belt, I recently stepped into a new chapter—acquiring an office in Frederick. At first, I was nervous. Change always brings uncertainty. I could feel patients looking at me, wondering, *“Who are you?”* And all I could do was be myself, do my best, and live by the philosophy that’s guided me since I opened Trulove Dental in Brunswick back in 2016: *Go above and beyond.* 💫

I’ve always felt called to help those around me—patients, staff, vendors, even the mailman. Because we all need help at some point. And in dentistry, anxiety, trust, money, time… they all play a role. It’s easy to postpone care for any or all of those reasons.

One of my biggest concerns when acquiring this office—now called **Frederick Prime Dental** (located near Walmart and Best Buy)—was the team. Would they align with my philosophy? Would they care the way I care?

Well… after just one month, my belief changed 100%. 💯

Here’s why:

🌧️ Today, the internet went out. Our TVs—usually playing calming music and scenic visuals—went silent. The rooms felt quiet and rainy. Without anyone asking, Yesenia pulled out her own phone, played the same music we always use, and moved it room to room as I saw patients. That’s care.

🔑 Later, a 91-year-old patient lost his car key. We searched everywhere—rooms, bathrooms, waiting area. Nothing. He was frustrated. Yesenia ran outside in the pouring rain and found the key on the street. She handed it to him, soaked and smiling, as if it was nothing. That’s love.

📱 At 8:30pm, Kaylyn from our front office texted me about a patient who had swelling after treatment. She saw the notification pop up on her work computer and reached out. I called the patient directly and eased his concern. That’s dedication.

These are just a few moments from one month. And I couldn’t help but write this down. I’m so thankful to work alongside these beautiful souls who care deeply for our patients. ❤️

🦷✨ Some stories stay with you long after the appointment ends ✨🦷

Today, we had the honor of caring for Bubba J. Adam during his visit to Frederick Prime Dental. What began as a routine cleaning turned into one of the most moving conversations we’ve had in a long time.

For the past 8 years, Bubba and his wife have opened their hearts and home to 28 newborns—each one abandoned at birth, waiting for adoption. While these babies awaited their forever families, Bubba held them close. For 30 days, he became their safe place. Their warmth. Their first embrace. 👶💞

Alongside raising two biological children of their own, Bubba and his wife chose to extend their love again and again—quietly, without fanfare. Just unwavering compassion, repeated 28 times.

Now, those children span a range of ages and stories. Bubba still gathers them for reunions, celebrating the lives he helped launch with nothing more than tenderness and time. 🎉👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Our team was deeply moved. His story reminded us that care isn’t just clinical—it’s personal. It’s the small, consistent acts of kindness that shape lives. And it’s why we show up every day—not just to treat teeth, but to build trust, offer comfort, and serve with heart. 💛

Today, I had the privilege of meeting Angela at Frederick Prime Dental. Her story is one that has stayed with me, a testament to the incredible strength of the human spirit. 🤯
She grew up in the shadows of a German bunker, a place of fear and darkness. 🇩🇪 As a child, she endured the profound loss of her parents, finding her entire world in the fierce protection of her older sister, who became both her guardian and her guiding light through unimaginable hardship. At just 14, with nothing but hope, she found the courage to journey to the United States. 🇺🇸 She was a child refugee, yet she fought to not just survive but to blossom in a new world. 💪
Meeting Angela, you would never guess the weight she has carried. Her smile is a beacon, her laughter is a gift, and her spirit is a blinding force of positivity. ✨
She returned the next day and gifted me this book, The Survival of Helga Braun. The girl on the cover is her sister, and the baby is Angela herself. It's an extraordinary piece of their history, a tangible reminder of the journey they walked together.
