Position: Part-Time Dental Assistant
Location: Frederick, MD
Schedule: Monday - Thursday (+/- 21 hours per week)
Responsibilities:
-Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, including examinations, cleanings, and treatments.
-Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments in accordance with infection control protocols.
-Greet and prepare patients for their dental appointments, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns.
-Take and develop dental X-rays as required, following safety guidelines and maintaining accurate records.
-Provide chairside assistance to the dentist by handing instruments, suctioning, and anticipating their needs.
-Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions.
-Maintain and update patient records accurately in the electronic health records system.
-Manage inventory of dental supplies and equipment, ensuring everything is well-stocked and organized.
-Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized dental environment.
Qualifications:
- X-ray certification
- CPR certification (preferred)
- Previous experience as a dental assistant is an advantage but not mandatory.
-Strong communication skills and the ability to establish rapport with patients.
-Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
-Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments.
-Familiarity with infection control protocols and sterilization techniques.
-Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
-Proficiency in using dental software and electronic health records systems.
