Nathan Corn, DDS - located in Franklin, IN is looking to add a permanent hygienist for Wednesdays (additional days possible as well). Great staff, laid back / no pressure office. Well-established hygiene program with mostly re-care and maintenance patients. Minimal new patients and SRP procedures.

This position will be ideal for a hygienist who is looking to minimize stress, slow their pace, or cut-down hours. Hours are 8 am to 4 pm with 1 hour appointment times. Reach out here or call the office at 317-736-9546

PSA- with few exceptions, mouthrinses are not as effective as they claim. They may be “killing bacteria” but not enough to matter.
Oral health is achieved by removing sticky, bacteria-dense biofilm (dental plaque) that cannot be achieve by a rinse. This biofilm requires mechanical removal by a toothbrush with proper technique- see previous post.
Unfortunately, labels on mouthrinses have outrageous claims and can lead a consumer/patient into believing a rinse a day keeps the dentist away. It doesn’t. A rinse is fine if used in addition to proper brushing/flossing but most definitely does not replace those steps. (Exceptions include rinses for dry mouth, mouth sores, or fluoride rinses when used as directed by your hygienist or dentist)

If your toothbrush looks like this, you’re brushing 🪥too 🪥hard! Even after the 3-4 month lifespan of your toothbrush, it should never look like this. Not only is this damaging to your teeth and gums, it’s ineffective at plaque and food removal. I’ve attached a decent video that shows proper brushing technique.
If you feel like you have to “scrub” your teeth to get them clean, perhaps it’s time for a professional cleaning. 😉
