Today is a very bitter sweet day at the office. Our beloved Sharri Berri the Toothfairy is setting off for her next big life adventure. Today will be her last day as a full time hygienist with our practice. As sad as we are to see her go, we are so excited for her big travel plans and whatever lies ahead for this beautiful soul!

Sharri will still be practicing with us from time to time, but is officially “retiring”. She has given so many years to this practice and to her patients. We are so so thankful for her and excited for her next life chapter.

All dental amalgam restorations contain approximately 50% mercury, and reports and research are consistent that these fillings emit mercury v***rs.

Scientific research demonstrates that dental mercury amalgam exposes dental professionals, dental staff, dental patients, and/or fetuses to releases of mercury v***r, mercury-containing particulate, and/or other forms of mercury contamination.

Mercury v***r is known to be released from dental mercury amalgam fillings at higher rates during brushing, cleaning, clenching of teeth, and chewing. Mercury is also known to be released during the placement, replacement, and removal of dental mercury amalgam fillings.

Utilizing the available scientific evidence, the IAOMT has developed extensive safety recommendations for removal of existing dental mercury amalgam fillings, including detailed protective measures that are to be utilized for the procedure. Here at the Centre for Holistic and Biological Dentistry our doctors are certified to remove amalgam fillings correctly using the IAOMT's "SMART" protocol.
