As an orthodontist, people always ask me what I actually do to keep my own smile healthy. The truth? Nothing fancy, just consistent habits. 🦷✨
Here’s what I prioritize:

🪥 I never skip brushing and flossing. Healthy gums are just as important as healthy teeth, and a few extra minutes each day make a huge difference over time.

😁 I wear my retainer. Teeth naturally want to move throughout life, so wearing a retainer is one of the best ways to maintain your smile after orthodontic treatment.

🦷 I don’t miss my routine dental cleanings. Preventive care helps catch small problems before they become bigger, more costly ones.

💧 I drink plenty of water. It helps rinse away food particles, supports saliva production, and protects your enamel throughout the day.

📅 I don’t wait if something changes. Whether it’s a shifting tooth, a loose retainer, or jaw discomfort, getting it checked early usually means an easier solution.
