Happy World Smile Day! 😁

Orthodontic treatment is about more than straight teeth. A healthy, well-aligned smile can support better function, easier cleaning, and greater confidence every day.

Today, we’re celebrating the smiles we get to help shape and the confidence that comes with them.

Braces and clear aligners may look different, but they work toward the same goal: gently moving teeth into healthier alignment over time. 🦷

Our latest blog explains the process in simple terms, from pressure and tooth movement to regular progress checks: https://www.smilesbylorino.com/how-do-braces-and-aligners-work-to-move-my-teeth/

💡 Did you know?

Teeth may feel slightly loose during orthodontic treatment.

This can be a normal part of the process as gentle pressure allows teeth to move into new positions. Once treatment is complete, the bone and tissues around the teeth stabilize again.

September is National Gum Care Month! 🪥

Braces create extra spaces where plaque and food can collect, making it especially important to brush carefully around brackets, wires, and along the gumline.

A little extra attention each day can help keep gums healthy throughout orthodontic treatment.

🦷 Smile Mythbuster!

Fact: Braces do not cause permanent white spots on teeth.

White spots can develop when plaque builds up around brackets and affects the enamel. Consistent brushing, flossing, and regular dental cleanings can help prevent this and protect your enamel throughout treatment.

Orthodontic elastics apply gentle pressure to improve how your upper and lower teeth fit together. Wearing them exactly as Dr. Lorino instructs can make an important difference in keeping treatment on track.

Have questions about your elastics? Our team is always happy to answer them!
