AHIP is almost here, which means certification season is officially about to kick off!

Every year, AHIP somehow seems to arrive faster than expected and before you know it, calendars are full, AEP preparation is underway, and the busy season is officially here. With so much about to ramp up, now is the perfect time to reconnect, hear important industry updates, and start preparing for the months ahead.

This year, AHIP opens on June 22nd, with the Kentucky NABIP Medicare Summit following on June 23rd in Frankfort, KY. Together, they make for the perfect opportunity to reconnect with fellow agents and industry professionals and head into certification season feeling prepared for the busy months ahead.

Busy season will be here before we know it, which makes NOW the perfect time for a mid-year business reset before certification season gets stamped into your calendar!

Whether it’s cleaning up CRM records and workflows, organizing carrier certifications dates, updating resource sheets, refreshing marketing materials, or beginning to plan your AEP events, a little preparation now can help things run much smoother heading into the second half of the year. Many carriers require AEP event submissions as early as June, making now a great time to start getting those details in order.

AHIP and AEP always seem to arrive faster than expected, and getting these behind-the-scenes tasks checked off now can help make certification season feel a lot less hectic later on.

As clients start heading out on vacations, weekend trips, and summer getaways, this is a great time for agents to share a few simple travel reminders.

When traveling, it’s easy for important information to get overlooked in the excitement and busyness of preparing for a trip. Having items like Medicare cards, prescription information, emergency contacts, and doctor or pharmacy information available and easy to access before leaving can help clients feel more prepared and avoid added stress if something unexpected comes up while away from home.

During busy travel seasons, reminders like these can go a long way and serve as another touchpoint that shows clients you’re thinking ahead for them and their families, even outside of appointments or enrollment conversations. It's also a great opportunity to discuss travel-focused coverage options, such as Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association travel plans, for clients who may be traveling internationally or spending extended time away from home.

Last night we had the chance to head to Louisville and join the Humana team to cheer on the Louisville Bats!

It was such a fun night getting everyone together, enjoying the game, and spending time with both our agents and carrier partners outside of the usual meetings and events. Between the baseball, conversations, laughs, and perfect weather at the ballpark, it truly felt like the perfect way to kick off summer.

We’re always grateful for opportunities like this to connect, catch up, and spend time with so many great people. A huge thank you to the Humana team for inviting both our team and agents out for such a great evening!
