Meet the desert willow, a Texas native that isn’t even a willow at all 🌺

Despite the name, Chilopsis linearis belongs to the same family as trumpet vine, and those bright, ruffled blooms give it away. Native to west Texas, it thrives in heat and drought while asking for very little in return.

Hummingbirds and native bees flock to its pink and lavender trumpets, which keep opening through the warmest months of summer. Consider adding this low-maintenance beauty to your yard! 🌿
