When you visit my office, I want to give you the best dental care possible. To me, this means the most appropriate care, not necessarily the most expensive, nor certainly not the cheapest. My personal opinion is that almost anyone's teeth can be saved for an acceptable cost, but I fear a lot of patients never have their basic disease controlled at the outset of dental care. Both decay and gum disease are infectious diseases. They respond well to the removal of bacteria and the mechanical correction of the structural damage to the teeth, gums, and bone. However, if the patient has no commitment to effective lifestyle changes that lead to improved care, whatever the dentist does will be doomed. You have to hang up the 16 oz bottles of soft drinks. I'm talking here about the need for the follow-up home care and regular dental care in general.

Still Open! Office telephone and internet outage!

On Monday the 9th of January 2023 we discovered all of our telephone, fax, and internet services were dead. As of today, Jan 13th, it has unfortunately still not been restored.

Over the weekend of the 8th of January, the hospital district was hit with a huge copper wire theft. The thieves stripped approximately 1,000 feet of cable from a phone company tunnel cutting 4,500 phone lines in the central hospital district. While the crime was in progress, the perpetrators used a tent-like encampment to disguise an access manhole to the tunnel.

With the exception of offices on fiber optic, any office on copper wire, including mine, can not run the software necessary to access patient records without using the internet. My office has only narrowly escaped closure due to the fact our patient records have backups on paper, other offices have not been so lucky.

For some reason, although this has been a business and healthcare disaster for thousands, it has not been in the news at all. In fact it should be front page news. For many years the FBI has warned about how copper thefts threaten U.S. critical infrastructure…

We interrupt your current Fort Worth broadcast of Winter Wonderland 2021 to bring you this important patient service announcement! Our office generally follows the FWISD decisions on closing due to inclement weather, however, I think it's safe to say, with the look of things, we will not be open tomorrow.

However, we mustn't forget that besides making hot coco, snow angels and snowmen, that a toothache never gets a day off. So, if there is an emergency please message on here, and I will more than happily give you my personal number # # #- # # #- # # # # so that we can help you as soon as possible.

Also, I'm happy to say that due to our office's dedication to extreme precaution, and responsible patients, to the best of my knowledge our office has had no Covid-19 exposure. But alas, luck doesn't last forever does it? So to err on the side of caution, we all already got vaccinated. Speaking of vaccinations, are you signed up? Mine went great, been at least a month and the only side effect is that I'm Covid-19 free, which is a pretty wonderful feeling!

And, last but not least, I couldn't close without saying, "don't forget to brush and floss your teeth," this helps fight Covid-19 as well as all kinds of other germs, and of course it certainly helps your teeth, gums, and overall oral health.

🎃Happy Halloween to you all! Although this year has made life, but specifically a few traditions a bit unusual and/or challenging, we continue to persevere to preserve a sense of normalcy.

Halloween is a day that reminds us of the importantance of community involvement. A special day where the adults across this country find unity in generosity, making a day special and fun for kids.

Granted, if you go and are still concerned about possible germs on the packaging, one solution is wiping them down with a paper towel and rubbing alcohol. Another solution, slightly more costly but extremely effective, is having a secret bag of candy set aside and switch it out with your kids neighborhood candy, dumping the original in the trash.

Remember though, the only thing spooky about Halloween candy is the sneaky cavity you may get if you don’t brush your teeth well after you eat it! Ouch! 🦷🎃

Zombie mouth should be a costume not a life style🦷🎃

❤️Reminder to everyone to get your flu shot 💉! Let’s stay as healthy as we can while Covid 19 is around. Covid is more dangerous if you’re already sick with and or are recovering from the flu, don’t give it a fighting chance 🇺🇸
