🦷 TIP TUESDAY: It’s not just sugar that matters!
Most people know that sugar can contribute to cavities—but how often your teeth are exposed to sugar and carbohydrates matters, too.

Every time you eat or sip something containing sugar or fermentable carbohydrates, bacteria in your mouth produce acids that temporarily lower the pH around your teeth. When this happens repeatedly throughout the day, your enamel has less time to recover and remineralize.

A few ways to help protect your smile:
🦷 Try to enjoy sugary foods with a meal rather than snacking on them throughout the day.
💧 Choose water between meals to help rinse away food particles and support a healthy oral environment.
🪥 Brush twice daily with fluoride toothpaste and clean between your teeth every day.
⏰ After acidic foods or drinks, give your enamel some time to recover before brushing—waiting about 30 minutes is a good rule of thumb.
Small daily habits can make a BIG difference in preventing cavities and keeping your smile healthy! 😁
