Happy 39th Anniversary to Pi Dental Center!

December 15 is Pi Dental Center’s 39 Year Anniversary! The doctors and staff at Pi Dental Center are grateful to have improved the lives of so many people. We are proud of the prosthodontic treatment, research and training that Dr. Thomas Balshi, Dr. Glenn Wolfinger, Dr. Slauch and dental team have provided since we opened our doors at 467 Pennsylvania Avenue in 1986. To all of our patients, thank you.

A beautiful smile! This patient gets lots of compliments on her smile. She mentioned that getting this treatment was the best decision. The complete dental restoration was provided by Dr. Glenn Wolfinger at Pi Dental Center, lab work by Stephen Balshi, MBE (CM Prosthetics).

Digital dentistry improves the final outcome of treatment. In this photo, Nancy and Caroline review the digital scan of her three-unit bridge before it is processed showing the design of her final teeth, particularly their shape and contour. In the next step, the teeth will be milled and completed in the lab.

Dental implants are a safe and effective option for women with primary Sjögren's disease according to a study reported in the online magazine “Decisions in Dentistry.” The study found that dental implants can improve oral health and quality of life, provide an alternative to removable dentures, and have a low risk of complications as well as a good prognosis over five years.

Sjögren's syndrome is an autoimmune disorder that causes a decrease in saliva production, which can lead to dental caries and tooth loss. Patients with Sjögren's often require dentures early in life, but they can face complications such as painful ulcerations and diminished denture retention.

A recent study demonstrates that dental implants provide a safe and effective option for women with primary Sjögren disease, improving their oral health and quality of life over 5 years.
