Volunteer Spotlight: Eva Poppe š
Meet Eva Poppe, one of the many wonderful volunteers who helps make GraceWay Village a place of hope and encouragement.
Eva is a retired teacher from Washington State, a wife and mom, and a bilingual volunteer who found GraceWay Village through Calvary PSLās annual Love Your Neighbor volunteer day. What started as an introduction to GWV has grown into a way for Eva to serve her community.
Eva teaches our Life Skills classes in Spanish, helping parents who have limited English skills gain valuable tools for everyday life. From financial and parenting skills to physical, mental, social, and spiritual well-being, Eva is passionate about equipping families with the knowledge and resources to make a lasting impact.
One of the most rewarding parts of volunteering for Eva is hearing parents share how they are putting what theyāve learned into practice. She especially loves when clients tell her, āI hope you will be assigned to me because you speak Spanish.ā
Eva says volunteering at GraceWay Village gives her a purpose-driven life and the opportunity to live out her calling to serve others.
Her advice to anyone considering volunteering? Pray about it, think about how youād like to serve, and then give it a try!
Eva, thank you for sharing your gifts and your heart with our neighbors.
We are grateful to have you on the GraceWay Village team!
