This case was interesting because it involved two opposite smile concerns at the same time.

The upper teeth had significant spacing and gaps, while the lower teeth had crowding and alignment issues.

In carefully selected situations, restorative dentistry can sometimes improve both spacing and the appearance of alignment without traditional orthodontics. In this case, we were able to close the upper spaces without making the front teeth appear excessively wide while also dramatically improving the appearance of lower crowding and symmetry.

Orthodontics is still often the ideal treatment for many patients, and in some cases the best results come from combining orthodontics with restorative dentistry.

But many adults are surprised to learn there may be other options depending on their goals, existing dental wear, bite concerns, timeline, or whether they are candidates for orthodontic treatment.

Sometimes a smile makeover starts with rebuilding the foundation.

This patient came in with multiple cavities, worn restorations, and a lateral incisor that ultimately had to be extracted and replaced with a dental implant.

Before designing the smile we first restored the health of the teeth. From there we rebuilt everything using a combination of porcelain veneers, crowns, and the implant restoration to create better proportions, symmetry, and color.

The goal was a brighter balanced smile that blends naturally while restoring long term strength and function.

Great smile design is about more than white teeth. It is about rebuilding health, structure, and harmony.

This patient originally had Lumineers placed years ago. While they served their purpose at the time, the proportions and color no longer matched her facial features or the smile she wanted.

For this case we removed the existing Lumineers and completely redesigned the smile with improved proportions, brighter color, and a shape that better fits her face.

The central incisors were lengthened and refined to create a more balanced width to length ratio. The line angles were adjusted to reduce the bulky appearance of the previous restorations and give the teeth a more elegant silhouette.

Color was also upgraded to a brighter, cleaner shade that enhances her smile while maintaining balance across the arch.

The goal with this redesign was simple.
Create teeth that frame the face better, improve symmetry, and deliver a brighter more confident smile.
