Understanding All-on-X
All-on-X is a treatment that replaces an entire upper or lower arch of teeth with a custom bridge supported by several dental implants. Treatment can involve one arch or both, depending on your needs.
The implants are placed in the jawbone, where they serve as anchors for your replacement teeth. Together, they support the full bridge, so each missing tooth does not require its own implant.
Your bridge stays fixed in place during daily life. You do not remove it at home, although your dental team can remove it when needed for maintenance or repairs. Recommended maintenance is 1-2x per year.
All-on-4 and All-on-X: What’s the difference?
You may already know the name All-on-4, a specific treatment concept that supports a full arch of replacement teeth on four implants.
All-on-X is a broader term. The “X” represents the number of implants selected for your treatment. Your plan may involve four, five, six, seven, or another clinically appropriate number.
That decision considers the quality and amount of available bone, your jaw anatomy, bite, implant positioning, and the design of your bridge.
At Denteast, we plan the treatment around your mouth, with the goal of creating a stable, functional foundation for your smile.
Every smile has a different story
Tooth loss can follow an injury, advanced gum disease, extensive decay, or years of recurring dental problems. Medical conditions, certain medications, to***co use, and difficulties accessing regular care can also contribute to oral health challenges.
Whatever your circumstances, you deserve to feel comfortable asking for help.
All-on-X may be an option if you:
Are missing all or most teeth in an upper or lower arch.
Have several teeth that cannot be predictably restored.
Struggle with loose or uncomfortable removable dentures.
Want to explore a fixed alternative for full-arch tooth replacement.
There is no single ideal adult age for treatment. Your overall health, oral condition, and ability to heal matter more than your age alone. Implant treatment generally takes place after jaw growth is complete.
A thorough examination helps us determine whether All-on-X is appropriate for you.
Preserve what can be preserved
Your natural teeth deserve careful consideration.
At Denteast, we assess the condition and long-term outlook of your remaining teeth before recommending full-arch replacement. If teeth can be predictably preserved, we discuss those options with you.
When All-on-X is the appropriate choice, any teeth remaining in the arch being replaced must be removed. We explain why those extractions are recommended, what alternatives exist, and how the decision affects your treatment.
You should understand your options before making a decision.
The benefits of All-on-X
Greater stability
An implant-supported bridge offers a secure alternative to conventional removable dentures, helping reduce concerns about movement during everyday activities.
More comfortable meals
Restoring a stable biting surface can improve your ability to chew. After healing and the necessary adjustments, many patients enjoy a wider variety of foods.
A smile designed for you
The shape, shade, and proportions of your replacement teeth are selected with your facial features, preferences, and bite in mind.
Confidence in conversation
Replacing missing teeth can help support clearer speech. Your mouth may need time to adjust to the new bridge.
Support for your jawbone
Dental implants can help reduce the jawbone loss associated with missing teeth by providing stimulation where they are placed.
Everyday convenience
Your fixed bridge stays in your mouth overnight and does not depend on denture adhesive. Daily cleaning and regular professional care remain essential.
