This morning, we treated an emergency patient with a previously root canal treated tooth that had developed a significant infection.
After clearing the infection, we drew a small blood sample and processed it into PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin), a concentrate of the patient’s own healing cells and growth factors. PRF speeds up healing, lowers infection risk, and boosts blood flow to the area, all using the body’s own natural resources.
We combined the PRF with a mineralized bone graft to help rebuild the bone, then covered the site with a PRF membrane and closed it using dissolvable PGA sutures, so no follow up visit is needed just for stitch removal.
The result: a same day, in office solution that uses the patient’s own biology to support faster, stronger healing.
