Did you know that 4 million people across the country wear braces?! Who ever thought it would be so many! 50-70% of children wear braces before they become an adult. Braces are most commonly used to straighten teeth, but can also remedy overcrowding.
Wearing braces can also help correct the way patients bite.

Here's a Fun Fact for you: Did you know that braces as we know them date back to 1819?! They were invented by Christophe-Francois Delabarre. The French had evolved the field of dentistry in the 1700s, with things like custom mouthguards and managing overcrowding.

What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a brand name that has, over time, become the common term for clear aligners. The Invisalign brand has been around since the late 90s, but orthodontists have been using clear aligners for much longer than that.

How does Invisalign Work?
A special software simulates how the teeth should move in a series of steps. The steps are then transformed into 3D models used to create custom trays for your teeth.

WHAT ARE CLEAR BRACES?
Clear braces are similar to traditional ones in how they work, without the noticeable metallic color. Instead of metal, these braces have a white or clear coloring due to that they are made out of ceramic or plastic depending. As a result, these braces blend in with the natural tooth color and are less noticeable. Typically when attaching the wire to the clear braces, the elastic components are see-through or white to help blend in.

What are the Advantages of Braces?
Today’s braces are much less noticeable than the types used in the past. Forty to fifty years ago, they were far larger and more uncomfortable. The brackets and wires are efficient and durable, holding up to the rigors of childhood. These braces are the most affordable option, and children and teens are more likely to choose them. Colored elastics can be added for personalization to make them fun.
