Reflecting on The Dr. Thomas Mitchell Day of Caring

About a year ago, our dental family lost an incredible dentist, friend, and servant—Dr. Mitchell. He was an exceptional dentist, but what made him truly special was the way he cared for people. He had a warm smile, a generous heart, and a servant’s spirit. He made people feel welcomed and valued, and he greeted his patients with his signature, “Hey Kid!”

This year, we wanted to honor his memory in a way that reflected who he was—by serving others.

We, along with Tooth31 Dental Care, hosted The Dr. Thomas Mitchell Day of Caring, providing free dental services to members of our community who might not otherwise have access to dental care. It was a meaningful day filled with dentistry, laughter, kindness, and lots of reminders of the impact one person can have.

We even got to wear the perfect shirts, generously donated by Ginger Mitchell, Dr. Mitchell’s wife, who also gave her time to volunteer that day. The shirts were orange—Dr. Mitchell’s favorite color—and featured “Hey Kid!” on the sleeve. Seeing those words throughout the day felt like having a little piece of him there with us. 🧡

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this day possible:

🧡 Pam Jenkins, our retired office manager — for coming back to volunteer her time and serve alongside us

And a VERY special thank you to the many members of our incredible team, and the team at Tooth31 Dental Care, who gave of their time, talents, and hearts. Thank you for showing up, serving our community, caring for each person who walked through our doors, and honoring Dr. Mitchell in such a beautiful way. We are so grateful for the way you embraced this opportunity to serve and carry on his legacy. 🧡

We are also grateful for the people in our community who trusted us with their care. Being able to give back in Dr. Mitchell’s honor was a privilege and a beautiful reminder of the kind of legacy he left behind.

Dr. Mitchell spent his life caring for people, and we can think of no better way to remember him than by continuing that spirit of service.

For more than 20 years, Dr. Thomas Mitchell served the Findlay community and surrounding areas as a dentist known for his honesty, compassion, genuine care, and commitment to excellence. He believed in treating every patient with dignity, kindness, and love. Dr. Mitchell was also a man of strong Christian faith, and his faith was an important part of who he was and how he lived.

The Dr. Thomas Mitchell Day of Caring is a way to continue that spirit of service — caring for people, giving generously, and using dentistry to make a meaningful difference in our community. ❤️ This day is about more than free dental services. It is an opportunity to honor a dentist, mentor, leader, Christian, and friend whose life was marked by a genuine love for people.

Love is in the air at our office today! 💐👑🧁

Our beautiful bride, Amber, decided to spend part of her wedding day doing what she does best—taking care of our amazing patients! We couldn't let the day pass without celebrating her with a crown, flowers, cupcakes, and lots of love from her work family.

This evening she'll be saying "I do," and we couldn't be more excited for her as she begins this wonderful new chapter.

Congratulations, Amber!! Wishing you and John a lifetime of love and happiness. ❤️💍

This week we are celebrating Skylar, and her 6-year anniversary with our office! As one of our EFDAs, she has been an important part of our team and has helped create so many positive experiences for our patients over the years.

Skylar is known for her dedication to our patients, her positive attitude, and the care she brings to our office every day. When asked what she loves most about her job, her answer was simple:

💙 "I love, love, love my relationships with all my coworkers and patients!"

A few fun facts about Skylar:
🌮 Her favorite food is Mexican—especially street tacos!
🏝️ A trip to Turks & Caicos is at the top of her travel bucket list.
