Lewis Family Dentistry is looking for a professional, friendly, full-time Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our dental team starting January 4, 2027. The ideal candidate will be comfortable interacting with patients and other team members in a caring and compassionate way; passionate about providing excellent patient care; and committed to training and education as professional training and technology are an important part of our work environment. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review and update patient’s health history; chart progress, treatments, and home care compliance.
Assess and evaluate patient through exam, patient records, and patient’s medical history to assist in diagnosis of dental hygiene problems, disease, and efficacy of administered treatment plans. Communicate findings to patient and doctor.
Capture x-rays, process, download and organize for doctor to view; capable of interpreting x-rays independently.
Clean calculus deposits, accretions, and stains from teeth and beneath margins of gums, using dental instruments, including scaling and root planing for patients with periodontal disease.
Educate and motivate patient on proper oral hygiene and corrective/preventative measures.
Schedule appropriate recall appointments.
Adhere to strict safety guidelines and procedures to OSHA and office standards.
Maintain regular attendance and adhere to assigned work schedule and office policies.
Always maintain the highest level of confidentiality to HIPAA standards.
EDUCATION:
Dental hygienist must be licensed and in good standing with the State of North Carolina Dental Board.
Bachelor or Associate Degree in dental hygiene.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.
Current HIPAA and OSHA training (if not current year, we will provide the training).
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Must be able to comfortably and efficiently handle multiple deadlines and task assignments.
Must have excellent customer service and willing to work in a patient-focused, fast paced environment.
Must be detail oriented in order to work efficiently in small spaces and maintain patient comfort.
