San Juan College offers a Dental Hygiene Program leading to an Associate of Applied Science Degree.

The San Juan College Dental Hygiene Program is a 2 year, 5 semester Program. Students graduate with an Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene with 95 total credit hours and over 600 hours of clinical experience. Dental Hygiene Video 2016:

💗 On Wednesdays we wear pink 💗

Our junior dental hygiene students are wearing pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

We stand together to raise awareness, honor those affected by breast cancer, celebrate survivors, and remember those we have lost.

As future oral health professionals, we believe in the importance of education, prevention, and caring for our community. Today, we wear pink to show our support and remind everyone that awareness matters!

Our dental hygiene students had the opportunity to volunteer at this year’s Veteran’s Stand Down, providing oral health services and supporting the well being of veterans in our community.

We love it when our healthcare students get to work together and share their knowledge and skills with each other! OTA student assessments provided hygiene students with hand strengthening exercises unique to their needs so they can excel in clinic!

SENIOR SHOUT OUT!

Meet one of our amazing Dental Hygiene seniors Lauren!

Lauren chose dental hygiene after beginning her journey in fitness, where she developed a passion for preventing chronic illness and comorbidities through nutrition and exercise. She wanted to take that passion for prevention one step further and found her calling in dental hygiene!

Her favorite program memory is finishing the first semester and realizing just how far she and her classmates had come in only four months! Celebrating with cakes and snacks has now become a special end-of-semester tradition for their class.

Her proudest accomplishment is her perseverance. Showing up every day, even when it was hard. Putting one foot in front of the other and continuing to move forward.

Lauren's biggest supporter is her fiancé, Zach, who has been there cheering her on throughout the journey.

After graduation, she is most excited to begin working in private practice and achieving financial stability.

Her clinic day snack is protein peanut butter bites and orange “Cuties”!

The song that describes her dental hygiene experience: “Stayin’ Alive” by the Bee Gees!

Lauren's advice to the next class: “Remember your WHY when things get hard. This isn’t forever! Keep your eyes up and keep pushing forward.”

We are so proud of her perseverance, dedication, and commitment to becoming a dental hygienist! We can’t wait to see where this next chapter takes you! 🎓🎉

Another successful Kiddie Clinic in the books!

A big thank you to our amazing dental hygiene students who volunteered their time and skills to provide a fun, educational, and positive dental experience for our young patients! 38 patients were seen on Saturday!

We are so proud of the compassion, and dedication our students showed throughout the clinic. Thank you to all of the families who joined us and helped make the day a success! 🦷💜

SENIOR SHOUT OUT!

Meet one of our amazing Dental Hygiene seniors Ingrid!

Ingrid chose dental hygiene because of the opportunity to teach, educate others about their health, and hopefully make a difference in their lives.

Her favorite program memory is her very first clinical competency: operatory infection control! She remembers sweating in front of her instructor and wondering if she was even washing her hands correctly.

Her proudest accomplishment is starting her final year of dental hygiene school while juggling school, family, and kids. That takes dedication!

Her biggest supporters are her family, especially her daughter, who has been by her side throughout this journey.

After graduation, Ingrid is most excited about NO MORE TESTS! And being able to take a week-long vacation without worrying about studying or homework!
