The Missouri Dental Board meeting regarding the OPA proposal has officially been rescheduled to May 14th.

This proposal continues to move forward as a rule change, not legislation, meaning it has the potential to advance quickly and without broad public awareness.

MDHA remains actively engaged in advocacy efforts to protect our profession and our patients — and now we need YOU.

💜🦷Meet Your MDHA Board Member
Gina Green, RDH, BS serves on the Board of Directors for the Missouri Dental Hygienists’ Association and is a member of the Membership Committee. A registered dental hygienist for 15 years, Gina brings experience from both private practice and public health to her role with MDHA.
After spending 11 years in private practice, Gina transitioned to public health and has worked for the past four years as a dental hygienist at a Federally Qualified Health Center in Joplin, Missouri. Her diverse background provides a well-rounded perspective on patient care, access to services, and the evolving needs of the profession.
“I enjoy serving on the board as a way to give back to my profession. MDHA has fought for dental hygienists for many years, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to do my part to support the profession and stay engaged in what’s happening across our state.”

💜🦷 Meet Your MDHA Board Member
Sara Brooks, RDH, BS serves as an Executive Board Member for the Missouri Dental Hygienists’ Association and brings 20 years of experience in dental hygiene to her role with MDHA. Throughout her career, Sara discovered a passion for caring for elderly patients and individuals living in long-term care facilities.
Sara currently works with a portable dentistry company, providing preventive dental services to residents in long-term care settings. Her work allows her to reach patients who often face barriers to traditional dental care, offering an important perspective on access, prevention, and patient-centered care.
“I may be newer to MDHA, but I’ve gained a deep appreciation for the dedication and hard work of our volunteers. It’s never too late to get involved and use your voice to protect, support, and advance the future of dental hygiene.”
We appreciate Sara’s commitment to MDHA, her compassion for underserved populations, and her willingness to step into leadership to help move our profession forward.
