Luis Pires, DMD, MSD
Dr. Pires is originally from Brazil where he received his DMD degree, specialty title in Oral Surgery, and completed his master degree in Dental Implants. After years of private practice and teaching implants procedures in the cities of Santos and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, he decided to move to Cleveland and specialize in Periodontics from Case Western Reserve University.
Dr. Pires’ interest in research has lead him to publish many articles in respectable journals and been an active reviewer for the prestigious International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants (JOMI). Recently, he is the coordinator of the Seattle Study Club of Akron.
Dr. Pires is an active member of the Academy of Osseointegration, American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association and Akron Dental Society. He believes that treating patients with compassion and heart, listening to their problems, and treating all patients as a family member is the only way to overcome their fears and insecurities. With that in mind, he is also trained in non-invasive procedures such as Periodontal Laser Treatment (LANAP) and Pinhole Surgical Technique.
