A smile makeover that was beautiful *and* restorative.

This longtime patient came to us after a scooter accident left several of his front teeth fractured. He also had significant acid damage on the backs of his front teeth, and needed some coaching to improve his oral health.

His smile makeover gave us the opportunity to accomplish several goals at once—restore the teeth damaged in the accident, protect the areas weakened by years of erosion, create new habits for excellent home care, and create a more balanced, natural-looking smile.

Cases like this are such a great example of how cosmetic, preventive and restorative dentistry all work hand in hand. The goal isn’t simply to make teeth look better—it’s to rebuild and protect them in a way that supports long-term function and health, while creating a smile the patient feels confident in.

And the best part? Seeing the smile on a longtime patient’s face when he saw the final result. He was thrilled, and it made for a very rewarding day in the office. ❤️

Sometimes a smile transformation doesn’t require a major overhaul.

This patient had older bonding between her two front teeth that had been used to close a gap, along with years of wear and chipping along the edges of her teeth.

We refreshed the bonding and carefully rebuilt the worn and chipped areas with composite, restoring the shape, symmetry, and proportions of her natural teeth—while keeping the treatment conservative.

Her reaction when we finished may have been my favorite part:

“These are the most beautiful my teeth have looked in years.” ❤️

Cosmetic dentistry doesn’t always mean veneers or crowns. Sometimes thoughtfully placed bonding is all it takes to refresh a smile while preserving as much natural tooth structure as possible.

And that is one happy smile. 😊

A new smile—and a sandwich to celebrate. 🥪😁

This patient came to us ready for a significant change. His remaining upper teeth were removed, dental implants were placed, and his entire upper smile was restored with a beautiful, implant-supported prosthesis designed to look and feel natural.

One of my favorite parts of this case? After we placed his final teeth, he went home that evening and enjoyed a good sandwich—and was thrilled to be able to smile and eat comfortably again.

Cases like this are truly a team effort. A huge thank you to Dr. Peter Tan and the team at Northern Virginia Oral Surgery Centers for expertly handling the surgical portion of his treatment, and to Vision Artist Dental Lab for their beautiful work creating the final prosthesis.

It’s incredibly rewarding to see the difference comprehensive dentistry can make—not only in a smile, but in something as simple as confidently enjoying a meal again.

🇺🇸 Happy Labor Day!

Our office is closed today as we take a little time to rest, recharge, and enjoy the long weekend.

But did you know what Labor Day actually celebrates? (We’ll admit—we had to brush up on our history, too! )

Labor Day began in the late 1800s as a way to recognize the social and economic contributions of American workers. The first Labor Day celebration was held in New York City in 1882, and in 1894 it officially became a national holiday.

So today is about a little more than the unofficial end of summer, backyard BBQs, and a day off—it’s a celebration of the people whose hard work has helped build and shape our communities. ❤️

We hope our patients, team, and fellow hardworking humans enjoy a well-deserved day of rest. Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸
