That first loose tooth is only the beginning! Children have 20 baby teeth, and over the years, each one will eventually make way for a growing permanent smile. Losing teeth at different times is all part of the process, so don’t be surprised if the Tooth Fairy stays busy for a while!

Did you know baby teeth have roots, too? Those roots help keep each tooth securely in place while your child uses it for chewing, speaking, and smiling. As a permanent tooth gets ready to come in, the root of the baby tooth gradually dissolves, allowing that familiar wiggle to begin!

Since saliva plays an important role in protecting teeth, encourage plenty of water during allergy season and keep up with regular brushing and flossing. Taking a little extra time to brush those molars can help keep them clean and healthy!
