Most people think wisdom teeth only become a problem when they hurt, but impacted wisdom teeth can quietly damage the healthy tooth beside them long before any pain starts.

When a wisdom tooth grows sideways or gets stuck under the gums, it can trap bacteria and food between the teeth — creating an area that is extremely difficult to clean properly.

Over time, this can lead to cavities on the back side of the second molar, often hidden deep below the gums.

This is one of the many reasons why regular dental X-rays are so important! X-rays help us see issues below the surface and intervene earlier rather than later when the pain has begun.

As some of you may have noticed recently, we have started incorporating our scanner into our appointments more and more. The scanner takes a series of thousands of photos and meshes them together into a 3D model. With this technology, we can scan full arches of our patient’s teeth to capture their dentition for night guards, crowns, bridges, orthodontics, and so much more!
This is quick, easy, and much more comfortable for the patient than traditional impressions ✅

Do you know how often you should be replacing your toothbrush?

It is recommended by the American Dental Association to replace your toothbrush every 3 months 🪥 NOT when your toothbrush is looking like it’s having a bad hair day! This includes your power toothbrush heads!
Your toothbrush should not look more stressed than you 🤪

*Side note: soft bristle toothbrushes are for brushing your teeth, medium/hard toothbrushes are for cleaning your shoes and your bathroom 😂
