Obituary
Our Dearest Bryan Jon Miller, DMD, FAGD, born December 14, 1958, to Jason and Helena Miller, passed away on October 25, 2021, after a profoundly difficult battle against cancer. Bryan’s life was full, and he lived it each day as if it were a gift. He had a wit and drive that never stopped. Even through these most trying times, he always said, “It’s a bump in the road. Put your head down and keep pedaling”.
Bryan grew up in Dover, New Jersey and graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Biochemistry. He was an active member of both the ski team and Sigma Pi Fraternity, and he remained friends with his “brothers” throughout his life. Bryan then attended Boston University Dental School where he performed neuroscience research and completed the Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) program.
Bryan moved to Colorado in 1984 for his love of skiing. He opened Homestead Park Family Dental in 1985 and began his 36-year career in general dentistry. Later, Dr. Miller relocated the practice to its current location and renamed it Meridian Dental Care where he practiced until he could no longer work. Bryan’s love for dentistry and his patients were evident by the huge involvement he had in the industry.
Throughout his professional career, Bryan was integral in professional societies and achieved many great accomplishments:
• Graduate Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD), 1999
• President of the Denver Dental Forum
• President of the Colorado Academy of Osseointegration
• President of the Arapahoe Chapter of MDDS
• President and Treasurer of the Colorado Prosthodontic Society
• Member of the International Team of Implantology
• Member of the Rocky Mountain Dental Study Club
• Member of the Denver Dental Implant Study Club
• Participant and treater for the National Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped and Kids
Beyond his passion for dentistry, he was an avid skier, golfer, cyclist, and racecar driver. He enjoyed brewing beer, making jewelry, good coffee, fine pastries, and family dinners. His contagious positivity made life happy.
In 2005, his life was challenged as he went into kidney failure. Yet, he found his hero, Kevin Townsend, and was granted the gift of life and many more years with all of us. We will be forever grateful for the time we had together and for Kevin’s selfless gift.
Bryan’s greatest love of all was his family. Bryan is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 35 years, Kristi, their three children, Ben (Lynn), Nick (Kristen), and Annie (Matt) and granddaughter, Regan. He was involved in every aspect of his children’s lives and taught them to work hard, play hard, and never, ever give up.
Other family survivors include Carolyn Kearns and Betty Wise (sisters), Dr. and Mrs. Nelson A. Prager, Mr. and Mrs. Frank P. Prager, Christine Kearns, Gary Wise, James, Stephen, and John
Prager, Faith and Phillip Prager, and his loving mother-in-law Virginia A. Prager.
We will forever love and miss him and will cherish the time we had with our husband and father.
