The end of day chart wrap-up is my Everest.

Not because it's hard. Because after seeing patients all day, my brain hits a wall right when I need it most.

Fun fact: I can remember every patient's story, every laugh, every "so how's your daughter doing" conversation. It's just the procedure notes that vanish.

To my patients: this is your reminder that we actually do care about you as people. Even when we can't remember what we drilled 4 hours ago.

Meet the team behind every smile at Ablantis Dental.

At the heart of it all is Dr. Claudia Cortadi, our doctor and owner. She built this practice around one idea: dental care should leave you feeling beautiful, relaxed, and cared for. Every patient who sits in her chair feels the difference.

Working alongside her:

Michelle, our OG hygienist and absolute icon. The longest-standing member of our team.

Nicole, our RDH and hygiene superstar. Cleanings, perio care, patient education, all delivered with a smile.

Tasha, our hygienist. Believes zen starts with a clean smile, and it shows in every visit.

Selena, our super assistant. Digital impressions, X-rays, sterilization, chairside support. She keeps every room ready and every appointment running smoothly.

Jessica, our insurance superhero. Eligibility, benefits, claims, follow ups, all handled so you can focus on your smile.

Gaby, our office manager and self-declared office octopus. Phones, emails, insurance, billing, follow-ups. Nothing at Ablantis moves without her.

This is the team you meet when you walk through our doors. We're honored to be your dental home in Encinitas.

Everything you think you know about veneers is probably wrong.

Over the years I've heard the same fears from every patient sitting in my chair. Veneers ruin your teeth. They look fake. They don't last. None of it is true.

Modern veneers remove less enamel than a contact lens is thick. They match your natural shade. They can last 15 to 20 years with basic care. And they're one of the most conservative ways to completely transform a smile.

If you've been holding off because of something you heard, come in and let's talk it through.

Which myth stopped you from considering veneers?

Tom Cruise's smile is one of the most rebuilt in Hollywood.

If you look back at his 80s films, you'll notice a crowded, uneven set of teeth with one central incisor sitting slightly off-center (a real dental phenomenon called midline deviation). Fans called it his "middle tooth."

Fast forward through braces in 2002, crowns after a front tooth fracture, and eventually a full set of porcelain veneers, and you get the smile you see today.

What makes his current smile actually work? The shade. His veneers weren't made blindingly white. They matched a natural tone that reads real on camera.

That's the level of detail we think about with every smile we work on at Ablantis.

Which celebrity smile transformation surprised you the most?

How long do dental implants actually last?

The short answer: 20+ years. The longer answer: with basic care, they can last a lifetime.

Implants have a success rate above 95%, which is one of the highest of any dental procedure. The crown on top may need replacing sooner than the implant itself, but the implant is meant to be permanent.

Care is simple. Brush, floss, regular checkups. That's it.

If you've been putting off getting an implant because you weren't sure if it was worth the investment, the numbers speak for themselves.

What's stopping you from getting yours?
