Today was the first round of presentations for the annual European Orthodontic Society (EOS) meeting in Dublin! 🍀

I am having a blast so far learning about bone-borne appliances and their many applications, like expansion, closing missing teeth spaces, correcting gummy smiles, and closing bites in an effort to avoid jaw surgery.

Looking forward to day two!! 😁💜

After orthodontic treatment, a year later, my youngest son's bite has begun changing! What's going on?

Oh boy, the crossbite is coming back, and the front teeth are not touching. He's not growing in height anymore, but the teeth are still moving... 😂

I've seen it in other young male patients as well. They complete ortho treatment with a perfect bite, and 4-5 years later they come back with underbites and crossbites! Some were so severe that they required jaw surgery! So, should I retreat him? Part of me says to correct the crossbite with a MARPE. Another part of me says to wait until the growing is completely done, so that we don't waste time and money!
To treat, or not to treat...?
That is the Shakespearean question 😂
